Experience

Mariana has extensive experience advising national and international clients on matters relating to competition law, personal data protection, information security, consumer protection, among other regulatory issues. She also has vast experience in administrative and jurisdictional litigation, especially before the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce in Colombia. Additionally, during her professional career Mariana has focused on designing corporate compliance programs and training companies in different sectors.

Mariana has worked in law firms such as Ibarra Abogados (Ibarra Rimon Law) and Baker McKenzie. Additionally, prior to founding La Firma, she worked as Competition Manager at the Computer & Communications Industry Association (CCIA) in Washington DC, representing some of the world’s leading technology companies in global competition and policy issues.

From an academic perspective, Mariana is a Senior Fellow and Leader of the Hispanic America Initiative at the GW Competition and Innovation Lab of George Washington University. She is also a professor at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana’s law school and a co-leader of the Artificial Intelligence Lab at Andes University.
